In a world where trends come and go rapidly, the focus on stylish and timeless vintage design has a special appeal. It allows us to design our living spaces individually and thus express the uniqueness of our personality. In contrast to today's consumer society, furnishing our home or workplace with special vintage objects is not only part of the authentic and distinctive expression of ourselves, but also a clear statement for sustainability and environmentally conscious thinking.

Every special vintage piece is a piece of history, a whisper of the past, it tells of the creator's idea, of aesthetics, formal language, functionality, feel, materials and colors as well as the craftsmanship of its time. It tells the story of the previous owners and of the hands through which it was passed. It offers the possibility of restoring its sometimes hidden beauty and functionality by reworking it with a skilled hand and sensitivity.

Whether you are an experienced collector, design enthusiast or just starting to explore the world of vintage design:

mercatino900 finds these beauties for you, makes them visible again when they have been living a shadowy existence and puts them in the well-deserved spotlight so that you can find them again. Several aesthetes with skilled hands and attentive eyes are involved in this sometimes very creative process, without whom such a project would not be possible.

I, Marie, am the heart and soul of the company and I am completely dedicated to it. All my life I have been fascinated by the beauty and functionality of human creations, and by creative work in particular. Everywhere I see objects that remind me of shapes, colors and materials in nature, and which people have made their own, used and interpreted in their own individual way. They always remind me of how much beauty surrounds us.

I also remember how, as an eight-year-old, I carved and sanded small wooden hand-carved objects until they felt like silk in my hand, how I spent days embroidering thousands of rocaille beads onto self-made purses or leather straps until my fingertips hurt like hell since I thought thimbles were uncool. In recent deccades, I have restored countless pieces of furniture, jewelry, and other treasures as a part-time job, and used them to beautify my living spaces and those of friends.

Anyone who has helped furniture, lamps, wooden objects or other special finds to shine anew knows how rewarding this task is. You are rewarded in several ways: through the creative craftsmanship itself and the result, the satisfaction of the meaningfulness of what you have created and the joy of the object that is often used in everyday life. I am also lucky enough to be able to pass on these pieces, which I find on my travels or which find their way to me, to you, after lovingly reworking them.

I look forward to your visit to the online shop, and hopefully soon to my own store here in Berlin Charlottenburg!
