Elegant three-piece set of French nesting tables or serving trolleys made of brass with glass tops, manufactured in France around the 1950s and attributed to Maison Baguès due to their characteristic design.
The tables are designed as a nesting ensemble (tables gigognes) and can be used together as serving furniture or a bar cart. The individual elements can also be flexibly used as side tables.
The frames consist of finely fluted brass legs with castors, allowing for easy mobility. Particularly characteristic are the all-round, decoratively perforated brass gallery and the classic finials on the corner posts. The proportions and fine craftsmanship of the brass are typical of high-quality Parisian productions in the Hollywood Regency style of the post-war period.
The clear glass tops fit perfectly within the gallery. They appear original to the furniture and show only minimal age-related signs of use with very light micro-scratches when viewed at an angle, without significant damage. The glass thickness and edge finish correspond to typical French furniture glass of the period.
The combination of a perforated gallery, fluted legs, and brass castors is found in French luxury furniture of the 1950s and is closely associated with works by Maison Baguès. A manufacturer's signature is not present.
