Description

1960s Original

The iconic Harp Chair, designed by Jørgen Høvelskov in 1963, Denmark, and manufactured by Jørgen Christensen, was crafted from solid ash wood and flag rope. The functionally and aesthetically perfectly balanced design of this masterpiece still impresses today with its timelessness and elegance.

The model was initially introduced under the name Viking Chair. Jørgen Høvelskov was inspired by the sweeping curves of Viking ships. However, due to the shape and the ropes used, the association with a harp is almost unavoidable. It's no surprise, then, that after its launch, a journalist aptly dubbed the sculptural chair the Harp Chair, and it has borne this name ever since.

The chair is in excellent condition; it has been cleaned, and the ash wood has been waxed. It bears the slightest signs of wear, such as minimal scratches, but these are not noticeable. The ash wood, a very robust and hard wood, has withstood the test of time and use very well. The original upholstery is also in very good condition.

Dimensions approx:

Width 105 cm

Depth 112 cm

Height 130 cm

Seat height 30 cm
